26. Jimmy J. Jazz - Facecömic: meets ZZ Top part 1

(Click the picture to enlarge it and click Esc button on your browser to return.)

This is a true story: my most confusing music experience was when me and my band were ready to perform in "Espan lava", which is the stage on Helsinki city center, "Esplanadi park".

I saw Rolls Royce stopping near stage.

"Tres Hombres" came out.

I saw ZZ Top walking beside of our stage, going to restaurant Kappeli terrace, ordering beer and waiting for our band to begin.

To be continued...

25. Jimmy J. Jazz - Facecömic: Google Street View

(Click the picture to enlarge it and click Esc button on your browser to return.)

Last time Google seriously pissed me off was their "Google Street View" camera operation.

They took pictures of my house and published them to public Internet without asking my permission first.

I had to contact to Google personally and demand them to take all of my pictures away one by one. This took them almost three weeks. What a nice planning tool for burglar!

Google argued that their 360 degree camera took pictures of public places anyone can enter. Their camera is at 2,5 meters high. I don't have any friends that long, do you?

I think that if someone takes a picture of my property, he or she would have to ask my permission to publish it in public. Google didn't, and I'm afraid that other companies will follow.

24. Jimmy J. Jazz - Facecömic: Childhood's End?

(Click the picture to enlarge it and click Esc button on your browser to return.)

Actually my childhood was quite normal: both of my parents were working, so I spent a lot of time out after school with my friends.

My mother bought me my first computer yeat 1980. It had 1424 bytes of memory and a Basic programming language. I started to learn the programming.

I made first calls using a phone and a modem year 1984 and I joined Internet 1985. Next year 1996 I started to run a Bulletin Board System (BBS) from my home with a PC and a single phone line.

I built my first Internet WWW home pages 1995.

It looks like I have been ahead all my life.

Nowadays there comes so much information, that I am getting behind.

58. Jimmy J. Jazz - Facecömic: Unthink

(Click the picture to enlarge it and click Esc button on your browser to return.)

Unthink is a new Social Media marketing itself as "Anti-Facebook".

They say that they will let the users to decide how the system should work. Users can choose which company can "sponsor" them and feed advertisement.

You can also pay USD 2 and get rid of ads.

Unthink is extremely hard to take to use. Luckily all the Privacy Settings are set to "private" by default, which is better than Facebook does.

Facebook normally sets all of your new privacy settings to "public" by default.

Unthink main window is confusing. There is "iBelieve" window with 21 different slogans on the left. There is "Lifestyle Tree" window on the right.

I have no slightest idea of what these are about.

Unthink says that it will challenge Facebook.

Better work hard, because Facebook has only 800 million users more than Unthink.

23. Jimmy J. Jazz - Facecömic: When we were young

(Click the picture to enlarge it and click Esc button on your browser to return.)

When I was born, I needed a pacifier. I got one hammered from steel. It felt cold on winters.

When I was three, I asked my father for some toys. He took me to forest, gave me a knife, showed the trees and said: "There you have toys". I did.

When I was seven, I had to ski to school all year. I hit the wolves using ski poles.

I think that life for kids today is easier than it was for us without mobile telephone, computers and Internet, but we had imagination, and still do!

22. Jimmy J. Jazz - Facecömic: Machine language translations

(Click the picture to enlarge it and click Esc button on your browser to return.)

"Machine language translations" really piss me off. I can't understand why big companies don't really have someone in Finland, who could speak Finnish and do the translation to different manuals.

Finnish is one of the most difficult languages in the worlds. For instance the word "talo" ("house" in English) can have 14 or 15 different cases. When my mother was young there was also "prolatiivi". So 15 or 16 different cases then. Finnish is getting easier!

I bought a lawn mover. There came both Finnish and English manuals. I didn't understand a word of the Finnish version, but the English version made sense. The grass is not growing anymore.

I bought also a coffee mill. There came only Finnish manual saying for instance "Beware of maximum quantity exceed max. sign"! WTF? Also "The container should be put on the machine" - I'd rather put it in. But she cooks good coffee.

(Click the picture to enlarge it and click Esc button on your browser to return.)

My social network friend Speedy is a chihuahua from Kerava, Finland, but she just got Green Card and lives in U.S.A. She likes to play all day and she hates cats.

Lea is a traffic sign warning for high speed and cameras. Lea is also a Unix guru and interested of middle ages.

Aapo is a tattoo living on Lennu's shoulder. Aapo is interested of booze and cracking.

Tommy is a dark corridor. He composes, plays and sings music in progressive band.

20. Jimmy J. Jazz - Facecömic: Face regocnition

(Click the picture to enlarge it and click Esc button on your browser to return.)

Facebook is asking you to tag pictures and identify your contacts.

This can be very dangerous, because someone can forge your identity card and empty your bank account or take a huge loan by your name.

In Facebook you cannot ban your friends of doing this, but you can make a change in your preferences, so that you are the only one who sees these tags of you, and then you can remove them.

In the future your identification information will be even more valuable than today.

Start raising your own value by deleting all of your pictures from Facebook and from public Internet.

It might be harder that you think.

19. Jimmy J. Jazz - Facecömic: Ilmo and a rival

(Click the picture to enlarge it and click Esc button on your keyboard to return.)

Ilmo started to study law after Finland's civil war ended on May 1918.

He met Aune, who was one of the first women studying law in Finland. Aune had sworn that she wanted to have a career and that she will never get married.

There was also a rival fighting for Aune. She didn't know which one to choose or to choose not. Finally Ilmo won Aune's heart.

They got their law studies ready. They both got fine careers and two children, which of oldest is my father.

18. Jimmy J. Jazz - Facecömic: Ilmo and Civil War

(Click the picture to enlarge it and click Esc button on your keyboard to return.)

Ilmo was born in year 1900. His father was a teacher, and the family lived in South Helsinki.

Finland's Civil Was started on January 1918.

Ilmo wanted to take part of the war against "Reds", so he went to "Whites" and lied that he was already 18 years old.

Ilmo's uncle heard that Ilmo had left home.

He went to Helsinki city center and he searched Ilmo for hours.

Uncle catched Ilmo just when he was about to jump on the train to Tampere fights and brought him back home.
